Hello and welcome to my very special treat – A Blog Entry. Last time I graced you with my digital appearance . . . well, I don’t actually recall what I said, to be perfectly honest!
Things I’ve Been Doing
Well I’ve procrastinated for so long over putting my Glamour Twinkles stuff onto Trade Me that my sister came over to my house and got a first hand taste of my extreeeemly sloooooooow computer.  Ladies and Gentlemen , I Still Have Dial Up Internet. So she is trying to sign me up to Trade Me and get me onto gmail and the blasted computer is sooo slow and we almost have everything done . . . when . . . tzzzzzzt EVERYTHING SWITCHES OFF – we had a power cut. Of all the infuriating times to have one. The timing could not have been MORE perfect . . . so we jump in her car, get to her place, start up he super speedy pc and get everything done – INCLUDING posting a listing – in less than 10 minutes.
So, I now have a Trade Me account, a sparkley new gMail address which I discover can be customised to match my crazy screen persona!
Anyhoo, my trade me listing sold -

Black Rosery

and I have got my bum into action and loaded another piece.

Yaaaay, now I can relax and focus on my Xmas gift – PLAYSTATION 2! Oh my GOD!  I see how people get hooked on that thing! l love it.

Buyee!

I’m struggling with making a cobweb necklace using silver wire and pearls. I’ve also made these rose-aries. They’re not strictly ”rosearies” but Y-shaped necklace doesn’t quite do it for me – like the cobweb they still need working on. Ages ago I got these cool little cloisonne crosses in gold, blue, green, black, and – for some bizarre reason – brown.

I watch many movies – with my television commercial aversion, and I’ve noticed that certain pieces remind me of the DVD I was watching while making it.

For example, the blue/green chunky junk necklace will always be ‘Poltergiest’ necklace, the blue rose-arie necklace will always be ‘Amityville Horror’ necklace. The only thing is I’m hoping to attract a range customers who will, more than likely, find this disturbing. Please believe me when I say: “I’m not a complete nutcase”. I just enjoy the spookiness of ‘horror’ movies. “Horror movie” has such negative connotations, I’ll call them GLAMSPIRATION MOVIES!

Chuckle-chuckle.

My superwebwhizz sis has illuminated me to the wisdom of Tags – which is what brings me on-line tonight.

My Taurean neighbour is having hysterics’ right now, hence the post’s title. I’ve been listening to bull*#& this week from the nosey whinge bag which has resulted in the unexpected bonus of me being driven to make some delicate little necklaces using small irregular sized glass facet beads and gold wire. I’m so lucky that I have outside interests like my “hobby-job” that brings me $, as well as being something I enjoy and – bonus – takes my mind off the non-drama theatrics that’s forced on me throughout the day. Ah, such is life, right Readers?

I leave you with one last thought: Some “women” really do their level best . . . to shove the women’s movement back decades with their hysterics.

Glamour Twinkles Workstation / Glam Station

These past couple of weeks I’ve been making my flat/apartment into a little hub of business-ness. Last month our building owners announced that they were going to change the floor to ceiling windows on one side of each apartment into sliding doors and they needed to measure each unit. We had to clear any furniture and ornaments away from the windows – so LOOOONG story SHORT = that was the time to do a major tidy of my little abode. It’s time to start treating my home like a home / business / glamarama workstation or Twinkle Station or Glam Home Twinkle Office . . . see how easily I get distracted.

I’ve also done a major tidy up of my unworkable bead storage system. When I first started making jewellery I had the “brilliant” (read: stupid) idea of putting each separate colour group of beads into one big glass jar – all blue beads in one jar, pink beads in another etc. It would take me ages to find the beads I wanted and by the time I’d fished them out I had either 1. forgotten what I’d originally wanted to make; or 2. I had taken so many other beads out for other pieces I wanted to work on that I had a big mess; or 3. I’d gotten distracted by another idea and has made something completely different AND I had a big mess. Naturally, I’d scoop up all those carefully sorted beads and drop them back into the Big Jar of Undiscovered Beads.
Fabulous
I’ve recently discovered these perfectly created “Craft Organiser’s” that fit most of my regularly used beads and findings. Everything is right at my fingertips. I can see what I have and what I need to buy (favourite ting to do!) It has taken me quite a white to sort the beads out through. I am very methodical and “anal retentive” when it comes to my beads being in the right container and I love mindlessly sorting beads into the their own little groups. I cannot leave the wrong bead in the wrong compartment. So I have been sorting through each Jar of Undiscovered Beads and methodically section up each of the different beads and transport them into their proper new home. Admittedly, it’s not really a great way to occupy my time but I find whenever I have some annoying thing going on in my life, I turn to “sort’n beads” to pass the time It’s constructive. I see results and it keeps my mind off the problem. In fact, the other day I spent quite a good long time doing a big sort out. You see, I don’t like watching TV (the ads drive me nutty) so i have DVDs playing all the time. I record anything I want to watch on TV and play it in the am while I get ready for work. At night I play DVDs – not to watch them, just to have something in the background. Also, I am a confirmed horror movie fan – unpleasant I know). It’s the spooky supernatural aspect I like and definitely NOT the gore. Stuff like The Ring, The Shining, Skeleton Key. So I’m sorting beads and I’ve got a DVD playing and I realise the movie has played through 3 times and I don’t even realise how long I’ve actually been sitting at my “glamstation” sorting through beads of many hues, shapes, facets and colours for probably close to 4 hours! I just love the sorting. I do have one small problem though, I’ve actually finished sorting every bead that I own into its compartment and I don’t have any more to do. Boo hoo. I’m sure I could find something else to sort. After all, I’ve still got a big jar of multi coloured seed beads that I like to have handy during my blue jar – pink jar – green jar – phase. I can always go through those little babies when I’m feeling decidedly annoyed or depressed about something.

Okay, I’ve written a lot of stuff tonight and I’m itching to get back to my purple chunky junk necklace and I also want to get started on a new range of tassel earrings . . .

See you round like a record, Readers!

Hoops - Blue

I’m back to being a jewellery maker, now my webbies back on line. I’m currently working on my Hoops Range. I’ve come up with a new way of making hoop earrings. I’ve always had a great response from people when I wear mine and they are good sellers at craft fairs as well. the simplest ideas really are the best. I’m now using chains to connect them to the memory wire. You see, I thought it was ‘normal’ wire and I was understandably annoyed when I discovered it was not. Funny thing – I got the memory wire by mistake and I hated it until I came up with the idea of ”hooping-it”.

I’ve also been working on some new colours for my Chunky Junk necklaces range. I wanted to make a piece in purple but the necklaces need a lot of large chunky beads. I decided to wonder down to The Warehouse in Wellington City – which isn’t the best outlet if you want variety of beads (or anything for that matter). Anyhoo, I’m wondering around aimlessly clutching my two new DVDs (obviously I’m easily distracted when it comes to shopping – purchasing Quicksilver Highway and The Twilight Zone Movie for those of you playing at home) , so I can’t find any beading stuff around. I go over to the party balloons section(!) and hey presto, beads!? Well, one jar of multicolour large glass beads with many purples is sitting there waiting for me to snatch it up. Long story short – I am now working my 24 gauge gold plated wire into a purple chunky junk necklace. I’ll post pic as I progress.

With my revamped webbie in the cyber stratosphere its time for me to look at spreading my electronic wings I think I’ll take a “mental health” day (of) work sometime this week and register with TradeMe and Etsy. TradeMe is a huge buying and selling wonderkid here in lil ‘ol New Zealand and Etsy is a craft store selling Extravaganza! I could also look at eBay too. Anything that is free to join has my vote, right Readers?

Happy reading, Reader!

Dearest Humble Loyal Reader,

Your patience has been rewarded. That’s right, Glamour Twinkles has finally been loaded onto the inter web – I should say www.glamourtwinkles.net.nz has been loaded onto the Inter Web. (Reader, ignore the ‘snapshot’, the new site has jewellery galore, go on, click the mouse and see what I mean, you know you wanna . . .) Naturally, it’s not perfect but it’s pretty darned close. Now I can sit back and relax – kidding! I aim to re-shoot some of the pictures for consistency, and fix up a couple of other little things, but otherwise I think I done good, considering I’d procrastinated for 2 years. My next tasks – to get a page with Etsy and, upload pix through Flickr photo-sharing site – get some opinions on my stuff. Next time you read this blog you’ll see that I have . . . well, you’ll just have to wait and see . . .

Yours Glamorously – Glammy Twinks!!

Hey there readers,

Needless to say, my DreamWeaving is still being “weaved” but I am on leave from Thursday until Tuesday and I WILL be beavering away like a little , well . . . Beaver. My site will be up soon dear reader. Stick around. I’ve got some new pictures up for you to salivate over. Or you can hate them, it doesn’t matter to me. Just as long as you keep tuning in . . . Over and Out, Doood!

Toy Box Treasure Ring by Glamour Twinkles

One of my first Charm Ring pieces

Hey Readers, I’m back. I’ve been busy working on my brand spanking new website. They are a LOT of work. I have a new appreciation for people who do website . . .”stuff” on a daily basis. So much editing, uploading pictures, going from one program to another. I thought I was doing well when I had all of my new text written, however tonight I discover that there is a tonne of photos of my jewellery that I still haven’t taken. My digital camera has become a lifeline to my cybershop. Without pictures, how are you supposed to see if you like what you see? Think about it. I’me feeling rather tech savvy right now because I’ve managed to load some photos of my “old” jewelery pieces. I’m pleasantly surprised that they don’t look too hideous. I’ve also aded oone to my About page ehich I have now filled in for your reading pleasure. Speaking of reading, I’ve been reading sper scary book in between “websiting” and picture taking and jewellery making. If I didn’t have to go to my annoying office I would have plenty of time to do both. Oh well, dreams are free (unless they’re nightmares, am I right? or am I right?) Anyhoo, must sign-off . . . oooooh, I can hear a native Morepork bird in the giant tree outside my apartment building. Spoookkkkyyy. G’nite Readers. Leave you with one more pic:

My webberific sister has been slaving over a hot computer screen for the past two days to get my brand spanking new website design on its way for me to populate. My shiny new site won’t be unveiled for a while yet, so you will simply have to salivate over the new blog design you see before you. Courtesey of My Sister (names have been changed to protect the innocent).

Greetings Dear Reader

Good news, my tech-savvy sister is going to assist me in understanding Nightmareweaver(sic). This Saturday, we shall be The Web-Master and the impatient pupil (that’s me, natch!). In related news: I’ve been tidying up my PC – deleting old files and so forth. I’ve neglected my computer’s hard-drive for some time now, but if I want to get my jewellery cyber-shoppe up and running I need to “clean house” so-to-speak. I’ve also been sticking to not making any new jewellery pieces until I have my website updated. My next post will include some pictures of my Glamour-work, I’ll work out how to post pix today . . . hey, I just worked out how to change the time stamp. I’m on NZ time now so if you’re paying close attention the time stamps may appear strange. Hello and Goodnight, Readers!
